Background

The venue for our ceremony, the Sentinel Hotel has been through changes over the years. Originally built as the Steward Hotel and (next door) Temple of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, it was later renovated into the Governor Hotel, before falling into disrepair (and appearing as the home of many squatters in My Own Private Idaho, released 29 September, 1991)

The hotel was renamed the Sentinel Hotel when it reopened in 1992, because of the robotic gargoyles on the Steward Hotel side designed by the architect who later designed the Oregon State Supreme Court building.

The enchantment of the week-end carries through to the elegance of the hotel, which features three on-site restaurants (one of which, Fortune, is entirely Vegan) and easy walking access to downtown, including transit hubs.
